About rFoil:

Heat travels in three ways:

1. CONDUCTION: Occurs in a solid or liquid when heat from one object is transferred by touch, to another object. An example of this occurs when a pot on a stove will heat up by conductive heat transfer from the coil.

2. CONVECTION: Occurs with the physical movement of air. There are two types of convectional heat movement. The first is Natural, where hot air rises displacing the cold air and moving it down. The second type is Forced or Mechanical Convection - occurs when an object, like a fan, physically moves or "forces" the air to move.

3. RADIATION: Occurs when an object is warmer or hotter than the air around it. For example, the sun, which is much warmer than everything around it, radiates heat waves that travel through the air in all directions. The radiation is then either absorbed or reflected by the surface it comes in contact with.

Why insulate with rFOIL insulation products?

When installed correctly, rFOIL can dramatically reduce the overall heat transfer through your building envelope. Because the majority of this heat transfer is radiant, it makes sense to utilize an insulation that will reflect 97% of that radiant heat.

Traditional types of insulation such as fiberglass, foam and cellulose are effective insulators against convectional and conductive heat transfer.

If up to 75% of your heat loss or heat gain is radiant, why not use an insulation that will reduce the radiant heat gain or loss by 97%? rFOIL can do this for you easily and effectively. rFOIL uses various combinations of FOIL and polyethylene bubbles to create a superior product that is effective.

Metal Building Wall Application

rFOIL is the ideal insulation solution for metal buildings. Used in wall application, rFOIL solves the two most critical issues - heat gain/loss and condesation control. The layer of pure aluminum reflects 97% of radiating heat waves to keep the building cool in the summer and warmer in the winter. The polyethylene bubbles provide the necessary thermal break to eliminate condensation problems. rFOIL Insulation is clean, lightweight and easy to install.

  • Reduces Energy Costs
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Will not absorb water
  • Attractive finished look
  • Brightens building interior
  • Easy to install

Metal Roof R-10 Application

In this application, rFOIL is the exclusive insulation in a metal roof. rFOIL is installed across the purlins before the roofing is installed. Installers prefer working with rFOIL because it is easy to install, does not itch, or require any special protective clothing. rFOIL works like no other insulation to prevent radiant heat transfer, and put an end to condesation issues.

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Will not absorb water
  • Hides unsightly purlins
  • Attractive finished look
  • Easy to install

Metal Roof R-19/R-30 Application

Installed as part of a total system for metal buildings, this installation uses a combination of rFOIL and fiberglass. It is an excellent way to increase thermal performance, stop condensation, and achieve required R-values.

After installing the fiberglass and metal roof panels, rFOIL insulation is fastened to the ceiling of the building. This installation offers an attractive, finished, flat look, resembling a solid one-piece ceiling.

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Will not absorb water
  • Attractive finished look
  • Increases insulating value of fiberglass
  • Easy to install

Metal Building Retrofit Application

rFOIL is commonly installed with new buildings, but it may also be installed in existing buildings to the underside of the purlins. rFOIL insulation helps to make the interior more comfortable, and will not cause condesation issues. rFOIL is ideal for meal buildings because the material resists abuse during and after installation. It is also preferred for this application because it looks great and hides unsightly purlins.

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Will not absorb water
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Hides unsightly purlins
  • Attractive finished look
  • Easty to install

Post Frame Applications

Installed in the wall and roof of post frame buildings, rFOIL solves the two most critical issues, which are heat gain/loss and condensation control. rFOIL prevents radiant heat transfer in the building to create a more comfortable environment for occupants or livestock. The polyethylene facing is easy to clean and is unaffected by chemicals and animal fluids, a must for agricultural use.

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Increases comfort of animals and occupants
  • Easty to clean and maintain
  • Brightens building interior
  • Easy to install

Residential Metal Roof Application

Attic temperatures often exceed 140 degrees. This can make a home uncomfortable, expensive to cool, and shorten the life of a home's A/C system. By installing rFOIL beneath the metal roof panels, 97% of the radiant energy is prevented from transferring into the attic area. rFOIL will reduce peak attic temperatures drastically and improve attic heat transfer by 50%!

rFOIL also eliminates condensation issues often associated with metal roofing. The polyethylene bubbles create a thermal break that prevents moisture from forming on the interior metal surface. rFOIL is easily installed with any residential metal roofing system, including new construction and re-roof applications.

  • Reduces energy costs
  • Increases comfort
  • Prevents condensation build-up
  • Will not absorb water
  • Does not promoste bacteria or fungi
  • Easy to install

Self Storage Building Application

In self-storage systems, intense heat and condensation are two serious concerns. Since metal surfaces can become excessively hot, this heat transfers into the interior to become even more intense. For climate-controlled systems, this can increase cooling costs, and shorten the life of the HVAC system. The high interior heat also invites condensation on the underside of the roof surface, which can damage the contents inside.

rFOIL effectively eliminates both of these problems: The aluminum surface reflects 97% of the heat energy which keeps the interior much cooler, and reduces energy costs too. HVAC requirements are often smaller ton cooling systems for unites insulated with rFOIL. Lower interior temperatures will also reduce condensation on the ceiling surface. The polyethylene bubbles provide an outstanding thermal break, which effectively eliminates the risk of condensation.
